About the artist
Eva Rothschild b. Dublin, Ireland, 1971, lives and works in London. Working primarily with sculpture Rothschild works with industrial materials as well as textiles and leather, often on a monumental scale for major public and outdoor commissions. Rothschild’s work explores the iconography of mysticism and spirituality. She is interested in the ways in which art and faith are connected and in the process of how objects are endowed with meanings beyond their materiality. In 2014 she was elected Royal Academician.

Solo exhibitions include: Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (2018), Dublin City Gallery, the Hugh Lane (2014), Nasher Sculpture Center (2012), The Hepworth Wakefield (2011), South London Gallery (2007), and Kunsthalle Zürich (2004). Major collections include: MoMA, New York, Arts Council of England, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin and Tate.Rothschild represented Ireland at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019).
